Congratulations to Brownie Troop
399 for Giving to the Community for the Last Three
Years!

Troop 399 is a Brownie
Troop from Fairview Park, led by Dana Kuzma. As
first graders they took a trip to Rozaties frozen
custard and helped host a food drive and collected
caned food and passed out Thin Mint ice cream. They
were even photographed by a local news paper. As second
graders they went to Pat Catans participated in a make
and not take, decorating valentines, then went to an
area nursing home and personally delivered one to each
resident! That was the best for them. Then as third
graders they took some troop money and purchased
supplies for the Lake County (Flood) drive hosted by
Fox 8 and had an interview with Wilma Smith and had a
spot on the news. |

At
their kick-off cookie sale rally, the scouts of Troop
1070 set their goal -- a trip to NYC. Through
planning and commitment (increased cookie orders,
several cookie booths, leave-raking, snow-shoveling,
and a donation), they reached their goal. On the
weekend of March 17-19, 2006, the scouts experienced
New York culture – taking in the St. Patrick’s Day
Parade, GSUSA Headquarters, Empire State Building,
Statue of Liberty, Ellis Island, the subway,
restaurants, Times Square, shopping, and the Today
Show line! It was an adventure.
