African Safari Wildlife Park
If you are looking for a place a little further from home try the African Safari just west of Sandusky.  You can drive and walk through parts of the park to see Zebra, Giraffes, and Warthogs!  Some you can even ride!  Make sure you check the website for coupons!

Alpine Valley
If you are looking for some great winter fun try downhill skiing, snowboarding, or tubing!  Alpine Valley offers many discounts for groups and for visitors at odd times.  Their website can even give you daily condition updates!  If there is no snow on the ground, don’t worry they make their own!

Boston Mills – Brandywine

Buckeye Trail
To really see Ohio on foot, take the Buckeye trail.  This trail circles the entire state of Ohio.  You can jump on at any point and jump back off when you have had enough.  SO this is perfect for the day hiker or the troop looking for a longer adventure! Your girls will even learn to follow trail markers.  Their website has the map for the entire state as well as small sections in your area.  The Bedford and Burton sections are the closest to home.  The web also lets you know where food, restaurants, and camping are available.  And if this is all too overwhelming, make sure to look at the featured hike and the short hike links that will help you focus on what your troop can successfully accomplish.  Make sure to check for trail alerts and get the maps you need before you are out in the woods!

Cuyahoga County Fair
This is agriculture at its finest.  You can see and learn about agribusiness while having a great time! There are rides, demolition derbies, fireworks and more.  As if that wasn’t enough wander through the fair and you will be sure to see animals of all types.  A fun summer event for the whole troop.

Cleveland Heights Community Center
So you want to skate? Cuyahoga Valley National Park
This park is a great place to take your troop during any season.  Hiking, biking and having a picnic are all fun warm weather activities.  Make sure to check the website for water quality updates if you decide to try the water.  In the winter you can ski or snowshoe and you don’t even need your own equipment; you can rent it there!  The park has special activities that you can do with your troop for an extra cost, see the website for details.

Lake Erie Nature & Science Center
Bring your girls to see more than 100 species of wildlife and to experience and learn about them in an educational setting.  Some of these animals are being rehabilitated so that hopefully they can go back into the wild!  If you would rather have the animals come to you its possible for a fee.  They even have scout programs available!  Brownies, Juniors, even Cadettes and Seniors can do badge work here! Lake View Cemetery
You don’t have to be afraid of cemeteries, this one is set up for you to explore!  Play a game, find the person that was born the longest time ago, or the person who was the oldest when they died!  You can even visit President Garfield’s monument and casket.  Also check out the horticulture and gardens and really unique and hundreds of years old trees.  You can even get a great look at a huge dam! If you want help to see everything, take a self guided audio tour or a ride on Lolly the Trolley.
