Buckeye Trail
To really see Ohio on foot, take the Buckeye trail.  This trail circles the entire state of Ohio.  You can jump on at any point and jump back off when you have had enough.  SO this is perfect for the day hiker or the troop looking for a longer adventure! Your girls will even learn to follow trail markers.  Their website has the map for the entire state as well as small sections in your area.  The Bedford and Burton sections are the closest to home.  The web also lets you know where food, restaurants, and camping are available.  And if this is all too overwhelming, make sure to look at the featured hike and the short hike links that will help you focus on what your troop can successfully accomplish.  Make sure to check for trail alerts and get the maps you need before you are out in the woods!

Cleveland Lakefront
There is so much to do in this downtown park that they have divided it up into several pieces.  Edgewater Park has swimming and boat launches, Gordon Park has boat launches and fishing, Euclid Beach Park is mostly for swimming, Villa Angela has a fitness trail, swimming and nature areas, and Wildwood Park has boat launches swimming, and fishing.  Check out the map on the web for details.

Winterhurst Ice Rink
