We Need Adult Volunteers

Discovery Days camps are staffed by adult volunteers. Adults are needed to make the camps possible and successful.  Volunteers include leaders, moms, dads, other family and adult friends. Adult staff can expect an active week of fun and challenging activities that create memories to enjoy forever. Adult staff lead groups, manage age-appropriate activities, learn new skills, get fresh ideas and meet new friends.

Lack of adult staff required to meet girl: adult safety ratios limits the number of girls who may come to camp.

What’s in it for you?

  • Camp is a special experience you can share with your child.
  • Children of adult staff receive registration priority and a discount. This discount also applies to legal dependents, nieces and grandchildren.
  • You can bring your boys and pre-school age children if they are toilet trained and can be separated from their parent/guardian. They are in their own groups and participate in camp activities.
  • Most volunteers get so much out of camp, they look forward to returning the following year.

Volunteer Staff receive:

  • A discounted fee of $30 for your child, if you volunteer Monday through Friday.

  • A special “thank you” gift

  • Discovery Days Staff T-shirt

  • Daily continental breakfast

Volunteer Staff are required to:

  • Register for Discovery Days Day Camp beginning March 12.

  • Be a member of GSUSA. Membership fee is $10 and is not refundable.

  • Complete 18 hours of pre-camp training. First-time volunteers can get up to 12 hours credited and returning staff get up to 15 hours. Credits are given for past camp and other volunteer trainings. Non-Girl Scout trainings may be accepted.
