Box Programs

Are you new to leading a Girl Scout troop and need some help getting started?  Are you a seasoned leader running out of ideas?  Or do you just need a break from planning meetings?  Each Girl Scout Boxed Program includes five to six planned troop meeting theme-based activities, with activities, supplies, evaluations and leader’s guide packed into one convenient box.  This program will assist Leaders’ challenging task of designing activities for troop/groups.  Applicable patches are included in the cost of the program and will be received after the completed evaluations are returned to GSNEO.  All Box Programs can be kept for up to 8 weeks.

GSNEO also offers a series of programs that can be downloaded and used for your Daisy, Brownie or Junior troops.  The online series are outlined below

"Get Moving Outdoors" Series

These programs are for Brownie Girl Scouts, are free of charge, and can be used anywhere.  Program materials are not provided with the curriculum.  For this series of box Programs, four patches can be earned by completing all of the activities in each curriculum.  When placed together, the patches form a special shape.  To purchase the patches at $1 each, contact Fallon Pulley at 216-481-1313, ext. 288 or fpulley@gsneo.org

BOX PROGRAM

Considered the most dramatic protest action against slavery in United States history, the Underground Railroad box program helps girls discover not only what a slave's life was like, but also explores the invaluable concept of freedom.  Brownies through Seniors will learn how people of diverse religions, social status and nationalities all worked together to create freedom trails using a complex system of secret way stations through which 30,000 to 50,000 slaves made their escape.  Designed to understand the historical significance of this network, especially here in Ohio, girls will quickly discover that the true heroes of the Underground Railroad were not only the sympathizers, but also the runaway slaves.
